The central mission of this working group will be to identify key gaps in N data and indicator availability for the design and implementation of national plans; and then develop a strategy, through papers, briefs, grant proposals and other opportunities, to address them. They will also help to ensure the completeness of the data portal.

Critical to the success of this working group will be a meaningful and sustained dialogue with non-academic stakeholder working group members from government, civil society, farmer groups, and the private sector to ensure the utility and applicability of the data and indicators that emerge.

Example outputs will include guidance documents on existing N data and indicators, policy briefs on how to use integrate data into national action plans, a perspective article on a research agenda for N data, and indicators for policy, and regionally or sectorally specific grant proposals devoted to improving data and indicators.
